Friday Favorites – Food Edition 

TGIF! I hope you’re feeling Friday fabulous!

If you’re following the 21 day challenge, KEEP IT UP!! You’re doing awesome and I’m crazy proud of you. Starting a new challenge can be hard for a bunch of different reasons…

  • Training your body that it doesn’t NEED chocolate
  • No bread when you’re out to dinner
  • No alcohol when you’re out to dinner (crazy, I know)
  • Learning to shop in a new way at the grocery store. I know you’ve said “I have no idea what to buy right now. Can i eat this?”
  • Learning to modify some of your go-to items
  • Cooking with your new goods.

Luckily for you I’ve done this challenge before. It 100% gets easier to shop and cook with your new “lifestyle” the longer you become a healthier version of you!! I promise.

Consistency is always key!

SOOO… Let me help you. Of course the COMPLIANT lists are huge to help you shop. The basics:

  • Fruit
  • Vegetables
  • Protein
  • Oats/Rice
  • Nuts

How about all the other miscellaneous items? like SNACKS

I don’t want you to overload on baked sweet potato fries and no sugar added peanut butter like it’s going out of style! PLUS the “*” means in moderation.

Here are a few of my favorite delicious and compliant snacks/alternatives to help you shop smarter!!

Friday Favorites – Food Edition

  • Tortillas and Tortilla Chips – Siete!

The almond flour tortillas and grain free chips are delicious and can be used so many different ways! tacos, guacamole, peanut butter and fruit – just to name a few!

  • Crackers – Simple Mills 

Delicious crackers that contain no wheat!! Love them with hummus or chili.

  • Coconut and Almond MilkCalifia

By far my favorite brand of dairy free milk. Delicious even in the unsweetened versions. (Our challenge approved versions). I add this to my coffee, oats, and anything I would normally grab milk for!

  • Nut Topping for cooking proteinNuts Over Fish

I love to eat and cook fish more than any other protein. It was upsetting for me that all of my favorite marinades and toppings contained sugar or wheat flour. THIS has solved my problems. This almond topping with no added sugar is delicious on any type of fish! It’s also ridiculously easy.

  • Snack bar – LARABAR

I like to always have a snack in my bag. It’s never good to get hungry somewhere that there isn’t a convenient healthy food option to grab or pick up.#hangrygirl LARABAR solves the problem. They are sweetened with dates and are delicious! Apple Pie is one of my favorites. BE CAREFUL – not all of them are compliant so check the ingredients. If they have chocolate chips = not compliant.

  • Ice Cream – SO Delicious

You know I LOVEEEEE ice cream. Almost on a crazy person level. Losing my Halo Top was legitimately a challenge in itself for me, so I was extremely thankful for this option. This SO Delicious no sugar added chocolate is GREAT!! Kicks my craving and is actually creamy and delish!
